Bungwahl- this place really does exist!

My parents had camped in Bungwahl since before I was born. A special gem in the Myall Lakes NSW, we were so fortunate to pitch tents by the lake on private property for a limited number of families only. I still remember the old track into our camp area. It would sometimes be wet from past rain, and if this was the case, it mostly ended in Dad's Holden Station wagon getting bogged in the mud. A rope was on the ready and we would get towed by our friend's ute out of the mud. From here the holiday adventure had already began.
Climbing trees, make-believe play, swimming, water skiing, camp fires and bathing in the lake are just some of those fond memories I will hold forever.
43 years on, I still love this place. The private property is now National park, and although there's more people, and no log fires; the trees are the same, the stunning water as beautiful as ever, and the precious holidays with family still live on.
After talking to a friend today, I felt motivated to start planning an artwork for my first Art prize competition for next year.
The inspiration.... Bungwahl.
