A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month!

My sisters and I did this when we were growing up. It was always a race to be the first to remember in the morning. My kids are now also fans of the race, even our dog "Summer" was playing this morning apparently ;).

I celebrated the first day of Spring with a bike ride to the beach, and a walk with a friend. So lucky to be living in this great city!

I have been working on a commission, and I'm very close to finishing. It's a good feeling when I know what the next step with a painting is. I get little butterflies in my stomach, excited to work on it further. Sometimes these urges occur when its not particularly good timing , such as I'm in the middle of cooking dinner, or it's bedtime routine, and sneaking away into the art room isn't exactly viable to the family. And then there is the reverse situation where kids are at school and husband at work, and I should be working, and that crazy thing called 'procrastination' comes into play, and suddenly I must clean the house or take the dog for a walk.

The joys of working from home I guess! But I know I am lucky to be doing what I love in the flexibility of my own hours.

On that note I will sign off and go and pick up the brush!
